Clean Sky Best Project Award

CISSOID nominated for Clean Sky Best Project Award 2017

Mont-Saint-Guibert, Belgium – February 27 2017. CISSOID is proud to annonce that Clean Sky HYPOTHESIS project has been nominated for Clean Sky Best Project from Partners Award 2017. This European research project, coordinated by CISSOID, the leader in high-temperature and extended lifetime semiconductor solutions, allowed the development of a 3-phase 1200V/100A SiC MOSFET Intelligent Power Modules (IPM) for power generation and electromechanical actuators in More-Electrical Aircrafts. The Award Ceremony will take place during Clean Sky 1 Closing Event on 21-22 March 2017.

In the frame of HYPOTHESIS project funded by Clean Sky Joint Undertaking, CISSOID developed the first prototypes of a 3-phase 1200V/100A SiC MOSFET Intelligent Power Modules (IPM) that were delivred to Thales Avionics Electrical Systems. This module will help increasing power converters density, by decreasing weight and size, for power generation and electromechanical actuators in More-Electrical Aircrafts.

This IPM offers an optimal integration of the gate driver with power transistors together in order to take advantage of the full benefits of Silicon Carbide (SiC), i.e. low switching losses and high operating temperature. Leveraging on HADES2®  Isolated Gate Driver that incorporates years of development in driving SiC transistors, it combines advanced packaging technologies enabling a reliable operation of power modules in extreme conditions.

“This Award shows again CISSOID excellence at the forefront of the research and development of high temperature electronic solutions and SiC power modules for harsh environments and high power density applications”, says Pierre Delatte, CTO at CISSOID.
